Common Names: Gan cao, sweet root, glycyrrhiza, Radix liquiritiae

Common Uses: As an anti-hepatotoxic licorice is effective in the treatment of chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis, for which it is been widely used in Japan.

Qualities & Properties: Demulcent, moderately pectoral and emollient.
