Irish Breakfast Tea
Created to matched the style favored by the tea loving Irish, this blend features the malty robustness of Assam Black tea from India blended with Chinese Black tea for added complexity. It seamlessly blends the dark full-bodied flavor of China tea with the malty underscore of a pungent Assam. As its name implies, Irish Breakfast Tea is an ideal accompaniment to a morning meal, and the addition of milk to this tea creates a warm, solid flavor and aroma.
Ingredients: Assam T.G.F.O.P. tea and China Black B.O.P. tea.
Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe (T.G.F.O.P.) is FOP with a larger amount of tips. When these tips are in abundance, the terms 'Tippy and Golden' are attached to FOP, thus making it Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe. TGFOP is the top grade of OP tea.
Broken Orange Pekoe (B.O.P.) is the next grade below Orange Pekoe, which designates a smaller, broken leaf. When crushed to make bagged teas, the tea is referred to as "Broken” (B).
Daily serving size: Pour 8 oz of simmering water (185-195° F preferred) over 1 tsp. of tea. Steep 3-4 minutes.
