Our Valerian Root, which comes from the hardy perennial Valeriana officinalis plant, is grown to organic standards by our United States growers. It is also found growing in Europe, Asia and Japan. Valerian Root is also commonly known as Wild Valerian, German Valerian or English Valerian, and comes in several different forms, which include cut and sifted, powdered as well as wild crafted varieties. How a web glitch proves this is the best quality valerian I have found

I have ordered my valerian root from Starwest for a long time. The quality is always spot on, customer service is fantastic, and shipping is quick and painless. I take valerian root to help offset severe anxiety and insomnia. I do not buy the capsules because I have had gastric bypass and do not absorb capsulated medicinals very well. Upon running out of this wonderful root, I tried to place an order, only to face a web glitch that made that impossible. It is with extreme guilt and regret that I admit I purchased valerian from another company. What an absolute mistake. I honestly think that there is sand in the valerian I received from this other company. Since I measure out my own dosages and take the valerian simply mixed into some type of beverage, you can imagine it's bad enough as it is. Now try adding the unpleasantness of grit. Yea, get a handful of beach sand and try to swallow it. Needless to say, I will be far more vigilant and order before I run out. Should there ever be a glitch again, I will willingly endure the slight delay such a glitch causes. Starwest also sent me an e-mail to see what happened, get information so that the glitch could be prevented in the future, and sent me a coupon to use on my next order. That.... THAT is customer service! My apologies, my thanks, and my loyalty goes out to Starwest for their outstanding service.

Nervine verb, relaxant, helps to reduce pain.

I use this herb in a combination with other Nervine herbs to help calm my nervous system, like Scullcap, Passion flower, Chamomile and catnip. I skip the caps, it increases the cost, I sense how much to put on a spoon, normally plus or minus a half small eating spoon; take it in the morning and before bed, so I can sleep.

I partly fill my mouth with water, before placing it in my mouth, via a spoon, whirl and swallow.
