A Day at Starwest (Spoiler: There Are Snacks)

There’s a rhythm in the Starwest office that’s hard to explain. It’s part laughter, part motion, part the soft scent of herbs floating through the air. The kind of rhythm that makes you feel like you’re part of something alive, not just showing up for work.

Jason’s door is always open. Literally. He has a strict no-closed-door policy, which means someone’s usually wandering in, an idea, a question, or, if it’s Bassma, a spontaneous creative spark she has to share before it disappears. You can pretty much set your watch by her bursts of inspiration.
Mattee keeps us all alive. She’s the snack queen, guardian of granola bars, chocolates, and whatever new treat the office didn’t know it needed. If you’re hungry, she’s your person, unless Brian gets there first. Our CEO could easily moonlight as a food critic. His passion for flavor is unmatched. It’s inspiring right up until you realize you’re meeting with him and suddenly wish you’d had a second breakfast.
Brandy’s voice carries across the room in the best possible way. She talks, laughs, teaches, and connects. You leave a conversation with her a little smarter and usually with a new favorite spice. She’s pure light, warm, curious, and completely unfiltered. It’s no wonder she works in herbs. You can’t fake that kind of joy.
Melissa is the heartbeat of the place. Loud. Opinionated. Absolutely irreplaceable. The office without her would sound like a library, and no one wants that. Even her typing sounds determined. She keeps the pulse steady, even when the rest of us are flying in six directions at once.
Anthony’s the calm in all that motion. Always kind. Always steady. Customers love him, and so do we. He’s the guy who can make your whole day better just by saying good morning.
Then there’s Shauntice and Naz. They’re in their own creative orbit, heads down, working on something great, probably laughing about something we’ll never understand. Whatever it is, it always turns out good. Always.
Colleen is the anchor. Quiet, steady, always there when something breaks, confuses, or overwhelms. She doesn’t make a big deal of it, she just fixes it. Somehow, she always has the answer.
And then there’s Jagatjoti. He’s not in the office every week, but when he is, you feel it. He moves through departments like a spark, ideas flying, energy shifting, creativity spilling out in every direction. Some ideas are wild (really wild), but that’s the point. He reminds everyone that imagination belongs at work, even in the middle of spreadsheets and sourcing calls.
This isn’t the whole Starwest family, just a small slice. A handful of people who make this place hum with warmth, laughter, and maybe too many snack wrappers.
The rituals are simple: open doors, shared snacks, spontaneous brainstorms, the kind of typing you can hear from space. It’s the rhythm of a community. Of people who care.
At Starwest, we don’t just make herbs, teas, and blends.
We make a place that feels like home.
