Christmas in June

As June comes to a close, we’ve been reflecting on a month of herbs, experiments, and moments that made us slow down and smile. From chamomile coconut ice cubes to cooling bath salts, it’s been a month of small, intentional rituals.

And we ended it on the sweetest note: ice cream.

This week, we brought two herb and spice blends into our test kitchen, and the results surprised us in the best way.

First up was Matcha Mint Ice Cream, a creamy, green swirl of earthy matcha and cool peppermint that felt like a soft breeze on a hot day. It was no surprise that Mattee was first in line (and second, and third) with a grin, declaring it “the best workday treat.”

But the real magic happened with our Rose & Nutmeg Ice Cream. Delicate rose water and petals layered with the warm spice of nutmeg, all wrapped in cold cream. It was floral, comforting, and somehow still refreshing. Anthony summed it up perfectly as he stood by the freezer for “just one more spoon”: “It’s like Christmas in a cup in June.”

And it really was.

We often think of rose for its soothing floral notes and nutmeg for its warm, almost nostalgic aroma, usually in winter baked goods. But pairing them with summer ice cream turned them into something entirely new: comforting without heaviness, cooling without blandness, familiar yet surprising.

These moments remind us why we love herbs and spices. They’re not just ingredients, they’re tiny invitations to pause, taste, and enjoy.

Thank you for spending June with us, exploring how herbs and spices can transform even the simplest rituals into something meaningful.

If you’re inspired to try these yourself, we shared both recipes on our socials for you to recreate at home. And if you’re looking to stock up, peppermint, rose, nutmeg, and matcha are all part of our summer seasonal discount, available retail and wholesale.

Here’s to ending June on a sweet note.
