The Seasoning That Stopped the Workday
This week at Starwest, something kind of wonderful happened. It started with a bowl of fries.
We’d just wrapped filming two new spice blend videos for our socials (they’re live now - worth a watch, especially if you’re hungry). And since we’re not the type to let perfectly seasoned potatoes go to waste, we passed the plate around the office and did what any spice-loving team would do: we devoured them.
And then something interesting happened.
It wasn’t just good. It was what-is-happening-here good. The kind that makes you pause mid-bite and go back for another, not out of hunger, but because your brain wants answers.
A few handfuls in, Melissa asked what we were all thinking:
“Okay, but seriously… why does this taste so special?”
That’s when Jason and Bassma from our marketing team leaned in. And what started as a snack break turned into a deeper dive.
Turns out, there’s a story behind that flavor, one that starts long before the jar.
Take our organic garlic and onion granules They’re steam sterilized, not irradiated. That may not sound sexy, but it means we’re preserving bold, beautiful flavor in the cleanest way possible. And it shows.
Our Quality team’s involved from start to finish, which is a nice way of saying: we’re relentless. But in the best way.
Then there’s the organic paprika, and honestly, it kind of stole the show. Grown in Spain. Milled on stone grinders, the traditional way. The smoked version? Slow-smoked over oak wood, the way it’s been done for generations.
What hit us hardest was learning how hard it was to even get this paprika this year. Tough weather wiped out a lot of the crop. Some farmers didn’t plant at all. So every pinch we’ve got feels rare, like a small miracle in the jar.
We always say our ingredients tell a story. This week, we got to taste it.
The BBQ blend held its own, too. We tried it on roasted potatoes, grilled zucchini… and yes, someone added it to popcorn. It tasted like summer, warm, balanced, a little smoky, never too much. Just right.
These little behind-the-scenes moments? They remind us why we do this. It’s not just about spices. It’s about curiosity. About care. About sharing good food with good people.
We filmed the whole thing, both blends in action, and it’s up on our socials. If you try them at home, tag us. We’d love to see what your hands and heart come up with.
Until next time, stay curious. Keep seasoning.
