The Blends We Keep Reaching For

It always starts the same way: someone from the team is in the kitchen, prepping something simple, sweet potatoes, a batch of chickpeas, maybe even just eggs. And instead of reaching for five jars of spice, they grab one.

That one blend that just… gets it right.

It’s different for each of us. But these are the ones that keep showing up again and again, on our own plates and in recipes we share with customers.

Take Jamaican Jerk Seasoning, for example. We knew it was special the moment it hit the pan. The mix of thyme, cinnamon, allspice, and habanero doesn’t just season, it tells a story. You smell smoke, feel heat, and suddenly it’s not just Tuesday night dinner, it’s grilled jerk chicken with mango slaw and sweet plantains. It’s bold. It’s layered. It makes cauliflower taste like it was cooked over fire (Mattee’s words, not ours). And it’s organic, blended in-house, and steam-sterilized to keep all that punchy flavor intact, without compromising on purity.

Other days, it’s something quieter. More familiar. Something like our Garlic Pepper Blend. That’s the one that lives right next to the stove, ready for roasted vegetables, eggs, marinades, and last-minute vinaigrettes. It’s garlic-forward, peppery, clean, and surprisingly powerful. It’s also proof that a good blend doesn’t need twenty ingredients. It just needs the right ones. Every jar we blend includes herbs and spices that have gone through our full StarCare™ process, micro-tested and flavor checked. Because even the everyday blends deserve that kind of attention.

And then there’s Herbes de Provence. It’s not always the first one pulled from the shelf, but when it is, something magical happens. We’ve melted it into butter for roasted carrots, sprinkled it over baked goat cheese, even tossed it into olive oil for warm sourdough. It’s subtle and elegant: lavender, thyme, marjoram, basil. It smells like a summer kitchen somewhere in the South of France. And it proves that you don’t need complexity to get complexity, you just need really, really good herbs.

These are the kinds of blends we make here. Not trend-chasers. Not filler-packed. Just real organic herbs and spices, blended for flavor and tested for purity, so you can cook with confidence, whether it’s for one plate or a production run.

More stories to come. But for now? These are the blends that keep getting refilled.
