Our Organic Coconut Oil is expeller pressed from the organic fruit of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). It is refined, bleached and deodorized, thus removing much of its distinctive odor and flavor, leaving a mild coconut flavor. Both refined and unrefined coconut oil are rich in antioxidants and contain the same amount of the beneficial lauric fatty-acid containing antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties.
You should choose Refined Organic Coconut Oil when cooking at medium high temperatures, and it is a notable substitute for butter, shortening, or other vegetable oils in baked good recipes, or where the flavor of coconut is not desired.
Refined Coconut Oil is also well suited for use as a carrier oil for skin products, and is often used in the soapmaking industry because it is resistant to rancidity.
